Thank You For Being Part of the Solution
to Get the Word Out On Intelligent Evacuation!
In 2018, after two back-to-back school shootings, one at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky, and another three weeks later at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, Michael Day was appalled to see the country dealing with these kinds of tragedies again. He became very motivated to find a solution to help people evacuate buildings safely.
He sought out to investigate a solution using sound-sensing technology to save lives. Early on, he enlisted the help of fellow entrepreneur and friend, Michael Sandefur. Research showed no uniform technology for intelligent evacuation of schools and other buildings existed.
The two men formed a partnership to figure out the best approach and while discussing how to protect our nation’s most precious resource, its children from school violence, they discovered a simple solution.
Having experienced that aha moment, the inventors were determined to save lives, and they set about creating a system for the evacuation of buildings, focusing on evacuation signage and intelligent evacuation-planning software. The IP they have developed is unique and includes both utility and method technology. To date, SafeEVAC has secured patents in the United States, India, and Chile, and have many international patent-pending applications on this transformative security technology applicable to any building to mitigate risk.

SafeEVAC is Intelligent Evacuation, Threat Assessment and Rapid Response Technology. We utilize next generation A.I. threat identification and first responder notification, patented and patent-pending directional exit signage, and intelligent evacuation software. Based on a thorough per-building security risk assessment, it enables SafeEVAC to deliver dynamic risk-based evacuation strategies within 20 seconds for multiple emergency types. Thus far, we have identified thirty-five potential hazards for which we can mitigate risk.
With a system alert, this provides instant notification to occupants within the threat area to seek shelter, to avoid the threat, instructing those in suitable areas to shelter-in-place while directing those who can safely evacuate to do so toward a safe exit. As occupants move, we simultaneously direct first responders to the threat area and provide OPS Center support to assist law enforcement, onsite security, and emergency responders. Decisive action saves lives, and everyone involved knows what to do and where to go instantly. This results in faster and safer evacuations, reduced casualties, and injuries, quicker emergency responses, more accurate data for authorities, and an overall reduction of panic, chaos, and mistakes.
